Curriculum Intent

At Polam Hall School our Music curriculum aims to:

  • Make a unique contribution to the learning of pupils at Polam Hall School, through explicitly teaching the skills of performing, composing and appraising.
  • Give pupils access to a wide range of practical activities which enables them to progress with their musical skills and knowledge whilst building their confidence as individuals. This includes the development of individual practice and ensemble skills.
  • Teach pupils the styles, genres and traditions involved in music making through a varied programme of study upholding the expressed aims of the National Curriculum.
